Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix #7 Now live – Stability and Crashes

Larian Studios continue their constant stream of Hotfixes and Updates to Baldur’s Gate 3 with Hotfix #7, which went live today. This is one of the shorter change lists, focusing pretty much entirely on stability and crashes. While not particularly flashy, a more stable game is a more playable game, so we’re always happy to see that.

The Steam community post accompanying the changelog also alluded to another Hotfix coming in the near future to address other issues players had noticed, singling out “an issue with shared items when dismissing companions,” which likely refers to a newly-introduced (and broadly disliked) system wherein dismissing a companion gives players the dismissed companion’s entire inventory.

Aside from that, there isn’t much to report on this one, so without further ado, here is the full list of changes in Hotfix #7 for Baldur’s Gate 3:

Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix #7 Change List

  • Fixed a crash that would occur when listening in on some dialogues during a multiplayer session.
  • Fixed crashes caused by corrupted item stacks that could occur when unloading a level or moving to a new region.
  • Fixed a savegame issue when loading into a new region while Withers’ Wardrobe was still loaded in an old region.
  • Fixed a crash that would occur when loading savegames with potentially invalid items in the inventory.
  • Fixed a savegame issue relating to traps.
  • Removed duplicated characters and items caused by items being taken across two different cached levels.
  • Fixed the preview for the text background option not changing height after you reduce the Dialogue Text Size.

Like I said, not too much, although I’m sure it is nice to see for players who’ve been affected by any of those issues. For other issues, we’ve been told Larian is looking into them, and we will surely see another Hotfix soon. You can see the full Steam community post here.
