Baldur’s Gate 3 Surpasses 800,000 Concurrent Players, is One of Steam’s Highest Counts

Considering popularity of the Early Access, many of us expected Baldur’s Gate 3 to be a big success… but how about being a #1 for concurrent users for a CRPG game and #9 CCU overall in all of Steam records? That’s right: Baldur’s Gate 3 just surpassed 800,000 concurrent players on Steam, putting it a little behind Hogwarts Legacy at its all-time peak.

Fans of turn-based games, open-world RPGs, old-school CRPGs, D&D games, and heavily narrative games alike all came together to praise the release for its immersive graphics, worldbuilding, character interactions, romance, storytelling, and intricate gameplay mechanics.

This will likely spell some important opportunities for Larian Studios going forward, considering their fantastic record so far with Divinity: Original Sin games. After being disappointed or outright misled by incomplete or flawed launches of games in the past few years, fans have seemed to walk back their trust in publishers, and more complete and polished games have been receiving extra attention. So, Larian Studios should be in a position to release more RPG Games going forward, backed by community support.

And we will be waiting.
