Champions: Return to Arms Reviews

A handful of new reviews have hit the web for Sony and Snowblind’s recently released Champions: Return to Arms. The first is at GamePlasma with an overall score of 8.6/10:

Champions: Return to Arms is a must have for any gamer who loves light RPGs, hack n’ slash type games, or for those who just love to look at games with beautiful detailing and graphics. While the gameplay is almost identical to Champions of Norrath, after playing around with this game in single player modes and with some friends I have found it increasingly difficult to put down my PS2 controller. I recommend that you cash in your pay checks or break open that piggy bank that has been sitting on your dresser and go pick up this game today.

The second is at PopCultureShock with an overall score of “B”:

On the surface, improvements made to Champions: Return to Arms are abundant, but if you dig a little, you will see that it is roughly the same game that we have played over the past four years. The basic formula is pretty solid but veterans will come to expect more. The added bonuses do wonders in helping to rejuvenate the dated game mechanics. To date, Return to Arms is the most complete package released from the good people at Snowblind. Anyone that has not given the franchise a whirl, should most definitely give it a shot.It just might grow on you.

The third is at Darkstation with an overall score of 8/10:

Champions: Return to Arms, even with its flaws, is still a very well made third person action RPG. For those of you fans of the original wishing for better online support should definitely check out Return to Arms, because I think it just may have what you are looking for. And for those of you who missed out on the original, you should go give this game a try – it’s got quite a bit to offer.

And the fourth is at GMR-Source with an overall score of 8.0/10:

In the end any true fan of Baldur’s Gate or Champions should still pick this game up and add it to your collection, others on the other hand should at least give it a rental before considering the buy.
