Calling All Artists! Cyberpunk 2077 Illustration Contest

If you’re an artist, especially an artist who doesn’t like outlining jackets, then CD Projekt Red’s new Cyberpunk 2077 Illustration Contest, “Your Night City”, should be right up your alley.

The Polish game developer is asking artists to create a piece that shows off Night City using their own unique style and vision. Considering all of the fantastic footage we already have of Night City, there should be lots of potential subjects for all you creative-types to choose from — or you could come up with a brand new concept that matches the tone of Cyberpunk 2077.

The only catch? You have to include V’s jacket. CDPR has a template for you to use, but all it provides is the shape of the jacket, and the dimensions of the image. Everything else needs to come from your imagination.

To help inspire potential contest applicants, Cd Projekt Red has been tweeting some example entries from a variety of artists. Check out this awesome balcony scene created by Kat Tsai!

What sort of character would you like to put in V’s jacket? If you can imagine it, and draw it well enough, you just might find yourself receiving some pretty nice swag:

  • 1st place snags themselves a Wacom Cintiq 16 tablet. Pretty sweet for making art, though I doubt it will run Cyberpunk 2077. You’ll also get a Collector’s Edition copy of Cyberpunk 2077, and a goodie bag valued at 250 Euros.
  • 2nd place gets a slightly less sweet Wacom Intuos Pro M, the Collector’s Edition of Cyberpunk 2077, and a goodie bag valued at 150 Euros.
  • 3rd place also recieves a tablet, the Wacom Intuos S, along with the Collector’s Edition and a bag o’ swag worth 100 Euros.

The contest began on September 1st, and runs until the 6th of October, so you have plenty of time to dream up your design. Check out the full rules and info on entering here. Even if you don’t win, CD Projekt Red is encouraging all entrants to share their submissions on social media and tag both @cyberpunkgame and @wacom; that way you might earn yourself some retweets even if you don’t score one of those Wacom tablets.
