CDPR Quietly Adds DLC Page to Cyberpunk 2077 Website

CD Projekt Red has already announced that there will be free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 beginning sometime in 2021, but hasn’t given us any information beyond that yes, it will exist. The most recent development on the DLC front is the addition of a DLC page to the Cyberpunk 2077 website. Although this page also doesn’t add any new details regarding what to expect of the upcoming DLC — the brief video clips on the page are all content from the base game — we can make some assumptions based on what CDPR did with Witcher 3‘s free DLCs.

As a reminder, here’s what the Witcher 3 free DLCs included:

  • New side quests
  • New armor sets
  • New weapons
  • New customization options (beard and hair)
  • New finisher animations
  • New Game+ feature
  • Alternative looks for Yennefer, Triss and Ciri

It’s likely that the free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 will follow a similar vein. We can expect to see new side missions, new weapons, cyberware, and armor, and probably some new customization options too. Given how much the fanbase has taken to Panam and Judy, CDPR may choose to give them some love in the DLCs as well. New Game+ would also be a welcome addition; in any game where you gain abilities and power, it’s fun to get to use them for longer (and smash starter enemies with your end-game gear).

There is also the possibility that previously cut content will end up being added in again as DLC. Whether it’s the NCART subway system, or the montage of V and Jackie gaining street cred, it’s obvious there are huge chunks of the game that were removed before release. Other elements that looked to be less than fully realized include the street vendors and shops (there are many that you cannot enter or interact with), the ability to play records and braindances you buy, and apartment customization. All of these would be good candidates for one of the upcoming DLCs.

What do you hope to see first from the free Cyberpunk 2077 DLCs? Let us know in the comments!
