Ten PC Franchises OXM Wants on Xbox 360

I’m not even sure that I should mention this article for fear that it will give someone, somewhere, the inkling that bringing franchises like Planescape, System Shock, and Vampire: The Masquerade to the Xbox 360 is a great idea, but I suppose I’ll cave and send you over to OXM UK anyway.

1. Planescape: Torment
The argument about how well PC RPGs transfer across to console is over well and truly over. If you’re still not sure – check out Fallout: New Vegas or Dragon Age. Oh, and keep your eye on Skyrim while you’re at it. With that tedium out of the way, let me introduce you to Planescape: Torment. Set in a hub world connected by a vast array of hidden portals, you took on the role of ‘The Nameless One’ – an immortal man who’s lost his memory on account of dying one too many times. Throwing you into a ridiculously imaginative universe filled with weird and wonderful treats, Torment quickly taught you to listen well, and trust no-one: You might not remember your past actions, but that doesn’t mean that other people won’t.

10. Vampire: The Masquerade
Set in a world in which vampires hide in secret amongst the living, this deliciously dark RPG series is probably best known for it’s hugely variety of solutions to any given problem – allowing you to get through an impressive number of situations simply by being a gorgeous undead slag. Based on the White Wolf pen & paper RPG of the same name, the level of detail and terminology covered is pretty astounding – and with trash like the Twilight series currently clogging up the world of vampires, we can’t think of a better time for some these genuinely morbid bloodsuckers to make their return.

Technically, as something of a FPS/RPG hybrid, Troika’s Bloodlines would have probably worked just fine on console too. But why do I feel as though the game would have been simplified, less mature, and far easier (gameplay-wise) if it would have been a multi-platform release?
