Find the Traffic Hooligan Walkthrough

Background

During the first two days of the game, you’ll be able to examine a broken billboard (#1) next to the water lock (#2) in Martinaise East. If you pass a Visual Calculus check, then you’ll reconstruct how a vehicle used the nearby pawnshop as a ramp and jumped over the canal, damaging the billboard and the water lock in the process. This will lead to the task. You can also trigger the task by examining the wrecked vehicle in Martinaise West (#3).

Note: This is the continuation of the poor driving you might have noticed next to the Whirling-in-Rags (#4).

Walkthrough

When you examine the wrecked and half-sunken car (#3), you won’t be able to see much of it, so you’ll have to wait for low tide. This will take two hours. If you have Kim with you, then you’ll get to talk to him for a bit. If you pass a Drama check, then you’ll whistle a merry tune and gain some Morale. If you fail the check, and if Kim is with you, then he’ll whistle a tune instead, and you’ll still gain Morale.

Note: You might mention Jason Irw while you’re waiting for the tide. This is a reference to the book High Speed Love: The Tragic True Love Story of Jacob Irw and Alfie Deletraz, which you can skim in the bookstore in the Doomed Commercial Area.

When you can see more of the car, you’ll discover that it has the number 41 on it. Even if you try to deny it, you’ll eventually realize that the 41 refers to your precinct number, and that you’re the one who was driving the car. This will conclude the task and earn you 10 xp, but the depressing answer will cost you a point of Morale.
