Arl Eamon’s Estate

Once you’ve gathered four allies for the Grey Wardens, when you return to Arl Eamon in Redcliffe Castle, he’ll decide that you have enough support to call a Landsmeet, and he’ll move to his estate in Denerim. When you get there, Loghain will make a surprise visit, but nothing will come of the encounter, except perhaps some choice insults. Arl Eamon will then ask you to explore the city and look for ways to uncover Loghain’s schemes and turn the opinion of the nobles towards you.

Note: Arl Eamon’s estate will function as a base of operations for you over the last part of the game. All of your companions will appear there, but you won’t find any shopkeepers or storage containers, and so it won’t be as useful as the party camp.

You won’t be able to do much in Denerim, but when you visit Arl Eamon in his study (#11), you’ll find Erlina, Queen Anora’s handmaiden, there. She’ll tell you that the queen has been imprisoned by Arl Howe, and that she’s worried that he might kill her and pin the deed on Arl Eamon. This will trigger the quest “Rescue the Queen,” which is covered in the location entry for the Arl of Denerim’s Estate.

Note: On your way to the estate, if Zevran is still alive, then you’ll probably have a random encounter with an Antivan Crow named Taliesen (this will happen even if you’ve completed the quest “The Trial of Crows“). Taliesen will try to convince Zevran to return to the Crows, and when that fails, he and several assassins will attack you. You’ll have to use Zevran in the battle (which, annoyingly, will reset the auras / songs of the other two companions in your party), but the assassins won’t have any magic users, and so the battle should not be too tough. When Taliesen dies, he’ll drop Gloves of Guile. Before and after the battle, you’ll have to pass some approval / persuasion checks to keep Zevran as a companion. These checks are not steep, so unless you’ve been completely ignoring Zevran, you shouldn’t have any trouble keeping him around.

I'm a huge gamer who especially loves the Final Fantasy series. I will play just about any game, especially if it has anything resembling a Dragoon.
