False Witness

This guide will walk you through the “False Witness” quest in Dragon Age: Origins. We will go through all the steps to complete this mission.

Background

You’ll receive this quest from the bartender at the Gnawed Noble Tavern in the Denerim Market District, but only after you’ve completed the quest “Sign of Safe Passage“.

For this quest you’ll need to kill three false witnesses for “D.” Their locations are listed below:

Skinny Frank (Lake Calenhad Docks). You’ll find him near the dock. He’ll have two thugs with him.
Cam of Redside (Denerim Market District). You’ll find him in the back of the Wonders of Thedas shop. He’ll have three thugs with him.
Brian (Frostback Mountain Pass). You’ll find him near the center platform. He’ll be alone (maybe because he’s “lowly”).

Each time you talk to one of the witnesses, they’ll initiate a battle, and you’ll have to kill them and their allies, if any. After killing all three witnesses, when you return to the bartender in the Gnawed Noble Tavern, he’ll reward you with 6 sovereigns.

Note: This quest and “Dead Drops” will choose a side for you between “D” and “K.” If you complete this quest first, then you’ll receive the quest “Harsh Decisions“, where “D” will ask you to kill “K.” If you complete “Dead Drops” first (without disarming all of the bombs), then you’ll receive the quest “New Ground“, where “K” will ask you to kill “D.” There isn’t any way to complete both “Harsh Decisions” and “New Ground”.
