Background

Having discovered the crown is not in the treasure, you learn Coldstone of Regismound has it. It is time to have a proper faceoff with this villain.

1 – Jasmine’s Novice

Your first obstacle is Jasmine’s Novice, who isn’t even worthy of a name. She attack you with six mercenaries, and casts Duplicates on herself, meaning you have to fight six copies. However, each one has only 15VI, so cut your way through them quick to stop her barrage of spells. Winning this encounter nets you 50AP.

2 – Jasmine of the Creek

Before you get to fight Coldstone (who surrounded himself with an invisible shield), you must get rid of Jasmine. She has 100VI, and uses the spells:

The main threat from her is that she produces duplicates as you whittle away at her health, and disappears herself while you fight the duplicates.
At 80% VI she disappears and summons two duplicates with 80 VI.
At 60% VI she disappears and summons four duplicates with 60 VI.
At 40% VI she disappears and summons six duplicates with 40 VI.
At 20% VI she disappears and summons eight duplicates with 20 VI.
At nearly 0 VI she stuns the group and then summons duplicates of the party to fight the heroes. Each duplicate has 50VI, and it is obviously advisable to focus on damage dealers before dealing with tanks and healers. Keep in mind to prioritize the heroes that are capable of causing wounds with stabbing or ranged weapons. Spellcasters can wait as they do not use their spells. The duplicate heroes seem to have a higher RS so use spells and RS-ignoring abilities on the warriors.

This fight is tough, especially as it is a relentless barrage. Healing potions as well as burning salve help get through her barrage of spells. A summoned creature that can soak up damage is a must. Save up and use knockdown attacks.

Each duplicate is worth 20AP. Reducing Jasmine to nearly 0 VI is worth 50AP, as is defeating the duplicate heroes. The total AP from this fight is 500.

3 – Regismound of Coldstone

Still Coldstone does not face you directly, instead bringing a giant statue of Answin to life to fight to fight you. The Statue of Answin has 600VI, and is immune to burning and wounds though (oddly enough) not to poison. He has no parry skill but his attacks can not be parried either. Answin opens combat with a stomp attacks that knocks down your entire party automatically. Having a giant crab or scorpion that can not be knocked down to distract him at this point helps a lot, as otherwise he will attack your prone heroes. Furthermore, the statue tends to focus on one combatant, so try to get him focused on a tough summoned creature or tank.

When you bring down the statue to 2/3rd of his health and again 1/3rd of his health, he freezes and becomes invulnerable, and you have a short moment of recuperation before Coldstone drops his shield and summons three Animatio Blades (25VI) to attack you. Coldstone also attacks himself. He has 500VI, and uses:

The Sleep and Paralysis spells are a bit annoying but in general he is easier than Jasmine, as there is only one of him. Unlike Jasmine he can not be knocked down, but as with Jasmine burn salves help, while at the same time he seems especially susceptible to burning damage.

He goes back behind his shield when he is down 2/3rd and then 1/3rd of his health. When you have fought both the statue and Coldstone through all thirds of their health, you have finally beaten the mage, and Gerwin appears as the game moves into its outro, first showing the closing events and decision in the party’s own time, and then Forgrimm ending his tale, as the game began.

You can continue the game after the outro. The fight netted you 300AP, and you can loot Coldstone for 5D 1T 7F and Coldstone’s Sword.
