Revenge for Ardo – Drakensang: The Dark Eye Quest

1 – Neisbeck Trading Offices

Background

You’ll receive this quest at the conclusion of the quest For a Handful of Ducats, when you discover that Ulwina Neisbeck was responsible for Ardo’s murder.

Walkthrough

You’ll learn that Ulwina Neisbeck is staying at the Neisbeck Trading Offices in Praios Square (#1). To enter the offices, you’ll simply need to talk to one of the workers guarding the entrance (presumably a fight will take place, but it’ll happen off screen). Inside the offices, you’ll start out in a courtyard, where you’ll be safe, and so you should take the opportunity to buff up your party.

When you move away from the entrance, you’ll trigger a long battle between you and Yandric of Andergast, plus a bunch of re-spawning Neisbeck workers and bodyguards. Since killing the workers and bodyguards won’t really gain you anything, concentrate on Yandric and try to take him down as quickly as possible. When Yandric dies, he’ll explode, damaging everybody near him, and you’ll gain 30 experience points.

But the battle won’t be over yet, because Yandric will turn into a fire spirit. The fire spirit will damage you with fire each time that you hit it with a melee attack, so if you have characters who are fire resistant, or who have ranged attacks, then use them against the spirit while your other characters fend off the workers and bodyguards. Eventually you’ll down the fire spirit and the others will stop spawning, and you’ll gain 100 experience points.

After the battle with Yandric, the courtyard will be safe, so go ahead and loot the corpses and heal your party. Then head up the eastern staircase and confront Ulwina. Ulwina will taunt you and the gods — “I am the true power in Ferdok! My money buys me more influence in this city than any god could ever have!” — but the gods will beat you to the punch, and they’ll zap Ulwina with a lightning bolt, ending her and the quest.

At the conclusion of the ensuing cut scene, you’ll get kicked out of the trading offices, so you won’t get to loot Ulwina’s corpse, but you will gain 100 ducats and 100 experience points.
