The Caves below Murolosh – Drakensang: The Dark Eye Quest

In this guide, you will find a walkthrough for the respective quest in Chapter 8 of Drakensang: The Dark Eye.

Background

You’ll receive this quest at the start of Chapter 8 when you meet with Mountain King Arombolosh in the throne room of Murolosh.

Walkthrough

When you ask the king for permission to explore the caves beneath Murolosh, he’ll flat out refuse you — and with a vehemence that will surprise even Prince Arom. To change his mind, you’ll have to complete a few quests:

  • The Poisoning of Xolgorax. Completing this quest will allow you to talk to High Priest Xolgorax and learn a few things about the grolm ruins beneath Murolosh, including that long ago a Dragon Quest Champion named Angoram went into them with the Helm of Fire, but never returned. For talking to Xolgorax, you’ll gain 50 experience points.

  • Suspicion Falls on a Friend and Aldessia. At the end of these quests, you’ll find a portal that will take you to the ruins.

  • “The Deeps of Gruldur.” During this quest you’ll explore the ruins, and you’ll find the Helm of Fire.

  • Madness in Murolosh. This quest will explain why the king was behaving so oddly — he was being controlled by the dragon carbuncle in his crown. After completing the quest, the king will give you permission to explore the Fire Falls, and Xolgorax will provide you a means to get there.

  • The Carbuncle Cave. During this quest you’ll meet the cyclops Pal’Na’Thar, and you’ll find and then lose the Adamantine Heart.

When you return to Murolosh after losing the Adamantine Heart, you’ll gain 50 experience points, and the quest will come to an end.
