Drakensang: The Dark Eye Reviews

Three more online reviews of Radon Labs’ Drakensang: The Dark Eye are now available for your consumption.

The first is at WorthPlaying with a score of 7.5/10:

Drakensang’s updated take on The Dark Eye for PCs is a welcome introduction to a role-playing system that players may not ever have heard of. It’s a solid localization effort, the character customization is deep, combat is challenging, and it’s an entertaining, if riskless, fantasy tale. I had plenty of fun exploring the corners of The Dark Eye’s world, plunging deep into ancient ruins and crafting my party into a team of adventurers despite the all-too-familiar venue. If you are itching to strap on a longsword and dive back into a dungeon, you might want to take a chance and visit Aventuria for a spell or two especially if you miss adventuring along the Sword Coast.

The next is at The Reticule, where no score is given, though they clearly didn’t like it:

Sometimes, I’m glad I don’t get paid for reviewing games. If I was being paid I would have had to have played through Drakensang in its entirety, and I really don’t want to. I have other, more exciting games to play with my time. But still, this is an important point that I think all developers need to understand, from consumer to developer, the first scene of you game must categorically be engaging and interesting, otherwise how do you expect people to stay around until the end?

And the last is at Unigamesity with a score of 3.5/5:

Drakensang: The Dark Eye is a high quality RPG that proves that taking a genre back to its roots and really challenging players to think and plan their moves is a winning strategy. Probably the more casual players won’t be able to enjoy the game because of its complexity, but they’d be missing a quality ride. In other words, I can say that Drakensang: The Dark Eye came out of nowhere to take the world by surprise and flood it with complex and complete quality. Highly recommended to hardcore RPG fans!
