Walkthrough

Locate the Chapterhouse

You’ll start out next to a save point (X). With the bridge behind you destroyed, you won’t have to worry about pursuit, and so you’ll be able to have a short conversation with Marten. Afterwards, it’s a good idea to explore to the south a bit before heading east to the chapterhouse. In that direction you’ll find a downed tree with a lootable corpse underneath it (#1). Once you’ve completed this quest, the tree will disappear, allowing you to travel past it.

As you explore the region near the chapterhouse, you’ll discover two Lescanzi camps (#2 and #3), inside of which you’ll find some containers ($) to loot — plus a few Lescanzis to kill. But eventually you’ll have to head towards the chapterhouse, where you’ll encounter a Lescanzi named Bogdan and a few of his men (#5). Depending on what you say to him, Bogdan might reveal a few things — like that the person who hired him is a “she” — but then he and his men will attack you. With Marten helping you out, this battle should not be too tough. We’d recommend using your group attacks to take down Bodgan’s men first, and then switch to your solo attacks for Bogdan. Bogdan will drop something nice when he dies.

Inside the chapterhouse you’ll meet Odo (#5). He’ll recommend that you travel to Raven’s Rill to look for other survivors, plus meet up with Lazar Bassili, the town boyar, who has helped the Legion in the past. This conversation will end the quest and earn you 6360 xp (enough to reach level 2), plus trigger your next two quests, The Search for Survivors and Unanswered Questions. Marten will stay behind in the chapterhouse to recover from his wounds, and so you’ll be on your own again.

1 – Downed Tree

This tree will remain here until you’ve completed this quest.

2 – First Lescanzi Camp

Inside this camp you find the lore entry for Bounty Notice, plus three treasure containers.

3 – Second Lescanzi Camp

Inside this camp you’ll find a pair of treasure containers.

4 – Locked Gate

You won’t be able to go through this gate until you’ve completed this quest.

5 – Bogdan

6 – Odo / Marten / Chapterhouse Entrance

This is where you’ll first meet Odo, and it’s where Marten will stay to recover from his wounds. You’ll find five treasure containers in the various rooms of this part of the chapterhouse, as well as lore entries for Lords of the Wild, Raven’s Rill, Remnants of a Fallen Empire, Rukkenvahl Lore: The Mournweald.

7 – Chapterhouse Main Hall

The first time you enter the main hall, you’ll gain a power sphere, which will allow you to empower your attacks.

On the upper level of the main hall, you’ll find lore entries for Birth of the Legion, Legion Lore: The Causeways, The Rukkenvahl, and The Wanderers. You’ll also find a “locked” bookcase that is involved in the quest A Loss for Words, and a Causeway (W) that you won’t be able to use until after completing the quest Into the Mournweald.

On the lower level of the main hall, you’ll find three treasure containers, plus a spider nest complete with adult and baby spiders. Past the spiders you’ll discover a locked door that you won’t be able to open until after you’ve completed the quest The Search for Survivors.

X – Save Point
