Background

A renegade professor from Stonebridge is performing dangerous and illegal experiments in the desert. If you can find and defeat him, the local desert will be a safer place.

Walkthrough

You’ll trigger this quest when you read a wanted poster in the Abbey of St. Hiram (#1).

Search for Evidence

You’ll find evidence of Professor Jabberhack when you explore the desert to the east of the abbey. This evidence will take the form of a nasty Automaton Scout (#2), which will hit you with lightning and fire damage. A couple hits might be enough to knock you out, so be prepared to dodge a lot when you face it. The scout will drop a Jury-Rigged Power Modulator when it dies. Nearby, you’ll also find a broken automaton containing an Automaton Hand (#3).

Find Professor Jabberhack

You’ll find Professor Jabberhack’s lab to the east (#4).

Defeat Professor Jabberhack

Professor Jabberhack will have some automatons with him, and he’ll throws bombs at you that will knock you down. So just like the battle against the Automaton Scout, you’ll need to do some dodging to survive. When Jabberhack dies, he’ll drop an Overcharged Synchronometer and an essence, and you’ll earn 614 xp. You’ll also find a special chest in his lab that you can unlock using the Automaton Hand (#3). Inside the chest, you’ll find a couple of random “blue” items and another essence.
