Dragonbarrow Cave Dungeon Walkthrough – Elden Ring

Short dungeon containing easy to acquire unique items, as well as a Runebear enemy that puts most of Elden Ring’s bosses to shame.

Unique Rewards:

Make sure to grab the site of grace at the entrance and continue forward until you reach a wider area. As you reach this part of the dungeon, you should notice a Runebear walking around the cave, and plenty of tall grass all around you. The oversized bear is the main challenge of this section as not only does it have a lot of health and damage, fighting it in a cramped area like this will make it even harder. To top it all off, killing the bear does not grant you any special loot, so make sure to avoid it while you explore this section.

You will have 3 choices here:

  • The path (A) leads towards this dungeon’s boss, which luckily isn’t this bear.
  • The alcove (B) is where you can find a Golden Rune [12] and a Warming Stone.
  • The path (C), where the bear is going, leads to another area where you can find the Bull-Goat’s Talisman.

If the above loot doesn’t interest you feel free to go straight to path (A), otherwise, we’ll be first grabbing the loot in the (B) alcove before following the bear to the nearby room. Make sure to remain crouched and use foliage to avoid being seen by the bear, and don’t hesitate to sprint back towards the site of grace if you ever get spotted and need to start over.

Once you’ve grabbed the loot from the (B) alcove, sneak into the nearby room where the bear went and turn right to find a safe spot. Make sure to hide in the bush in the very back of that small area, as the patrolling bear will find you if you’re hiding in the tall grass right next to it. Wait for the bear to leave and go deeper through the cave by taking the tunnel to your right, which leads to a room with the Bull-Goat’s Talisman.

On your way back, the bear will be standing still in a way that will make it impossible to crouch by unnoticed. You will have to either run back to the site of grace and rest there to be able to reset the bear’s pathing, or run straight to the tunnel north to proceed towards the dungeon’s boss.

Whichever way you choose to get there, take the tunnel to the north and drop down to the platform below. From there, jump down to the left to reach a safe area overlooking a pack of wolves.

Here, you can either fight the wolves below or just run through the area by going east, which is where the boss room is located. The only loot in this area is a Golden Rune [8] and 3x Beast Blood on two corpses laying in the middle of the room, so it’s up to you whether it’s worth it or not to fight some very angry wolves.

If you decide to fight the wolves, use ranged attacks from the ledge overlooking the wolves and they will not be able to figure out that there is a path leading to where you are. Instead, they will keep walking around under you, and you’ll be able to safely deal with them. If you don’t have access to ranged attacks, go south from this safe area and you’ll find a tunnel leading to the area below. On your way there, you will find a couple wolves in the dark, so make sure so sneak through that tunnel to get the jump on them. Once you reach the lower area, you can either sneak up to one of the wolves to thin out their numbers, or try to pull one of them back at a time by using a ranged weapon.

Once you’re ready, take the tunnel east of the room with the wolves, and you will find a hole leading down, with several platforms that allow you to safely descend into the Beastman of Farum Azula Duo boss room. When you reach the bottom you will be in the boss room with no way back up, so make sure you’re prepared for the encounter.
