Background

You’ll receive this quest from the Shady Character staying at the Lonely Spirits Tavern in Blackwater, which is a part of the Blackwater Region.

Walkthrough

The Shady Character (#1) will try to hire you to kill Lilith, and he’ll ask you to bring back her amulet as proof of the deed. If you’ve already met Lilith and don’t like the idea of assassinating her, then you can refuse the job and kill the Shady Character instead. You’ll fail the quest if you take this approach, but you’ll still earn 250 xp and 150 gp.

Assuming you accept the job, then you’ll find Lilith at her house in the Northern Tangletree Forest (#2). She’s a tough fighter, but if you killed a Berrea Mercenary on your way to Blackwater, then you shouldn’t have any trouble with her. When Lilith dies, she’ll drop Amulet Passkey 15, and you’ll earn 200 xp.

If you’re far enough along in the main questline, then you’ll recognize that the amulet is a key for The Underground Repository in Blackwater. This will give you a choice for what to do next:

  • You can simply give the amulet to the Shady Character. He’ll reward you with 500 gp and 1500 xp, and that will be the end of the quest.
  • You can loot Lilith’s vault in The Underground Repository (where you’ll find a Divine Ore Great Sword, the best sword in the game), and then you can give the amulet to the Shady Character. You’ll get the same reward as with the first option, but eventually the Shady Character will figure out what you did, and he’ll attempt to ambush you with a trio of Berrea Mercenaries. This ambush will always take place either in the mountain pass between Blackwater and Vela (#3), or at the crossroads east of town (#4). You’ll earn 745 xp for defeating the ambush.
