Background

This is an optional main quest. You’ll receive it from Shelta Marie in Moonrise (#1) after completing her quest The Sealed Letter.

Walkthrough

When you complete Shelta’s quest, she’ll tell you how you can enter Old Moonrise, which is where the Blackened Bone Tavern is located. You’ll need to find a Sigil of Fire, and then you’ll need to put it on and talk to Shepherd Nicholas in the Temple of Rai at night (#2). If you do this correctly, then you’ll complete the quest and earn 1000 xp, and Shepherd Nicholas will open a secret door in the back wall of the temple. Past the door, you’ll find a staircase leading down into the Moonrise Underground (Exit A), which will take you to Old Moonrise.

If you haven’t found one yet, there are four places where you can acquire a Sigil of Fire: inside a giant clam in the Baasilt Dunes, on a corpse in the Seawarden’s Guild in the Southern Boglands, in the red ceramic jar in Baizel’s house in the Elderoak Forest, and from Ranimer in the Elderoak Forest if you lie to him during the quest The Meaning of the Note. You can also find Sigils of Fire randomly.

The Sigils of Fire aren’t listed as quest items. They’re just regular rings. So if you found them and then sold them, meaning you no longer have one available, you won’t be able to complete this quest, but there’s still a way to reach Old Moonrise. To open the secret door in the Temple of Rai, you can just go to the cemetery in Moonrise (#3), which is accessed via the back door of a house (#4), and turn one of the headstones there.

Local Exit

A – Staircase to the Moonrise Underground
