ESO Nightmare Courser Is One Sick Ride

The ESO Nightmare Courser is now available for sale in the new Crown Store.

In a somewhat surprising move, ZeniMax Online Studios (ZOS) released the ESO Nightmare Courser for sale in the new Crown Store. The Nightmare Courser was rumored to be in existence well before yesterday’s launch of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited and its new cash shop. Although the internet was awash with chatter and an image of the rearing horse (see above), the mount was conspicuously absent from early reports of the Crown Store’s inventory (read this article and watch the video from Deltias Gaming).

ESO Nightmare Courser

If mounts in The Elder Scrolls Online were cars, the ESO Nightmare Courser would be a high-end Lamborghini. This ride is sick, sporting an all-black coat, flaming hooves and flaming eyes. Seeing one of these mounts in the wild, you can’t help but stare.

According to the ZOS:

This flame-wreathed steed, black as the pits of Oblivion, is hungry for the chaos of war. Many conflicting legends surround its mysterious origins, but all agree on one thing: only the mighty could hope to control such a beast.

ESO Nightmare Courser Price

Just like a performance sports car however, the ESO Nightmare Courser is expensive — 2,500 Crowns to be exact, or roughly $25 USD in real money. You could almost buy three standard horse mounts in the cash shop for the price of one Nightmare Courser (a regular mount costing 900 Crowns).

That being said, the sticker price hasn’t dissuaded players from buying the flaming mount. Take a casual stroll through any major city in Tamriel, and you can’t help but notice several ESO Nightmare Coursers being ridden. And is it any wonder? By any standard, it’s hard to argue against how magnificent this horse looks. Take a look at the following screenshots:
