The Bandit – Fable II

This guide will help you complete The Bandit quest in Fable II.

The Bandit Walkthrough

fable ii the bandit quest 1

At the completion of The Birth of a Hero quest, you’ll find yourself atop the hill on the beach of Bower Lake. You’re to meet Theresa at the gate to Bowerstone, so descend the hill and head west to the gate. When you reach your destination, a guard will proclaim that the road into Bowerstone is closed due to recent bandit attacks orchestrated by a brute named Thag. The only way you’re getting in is to get rid of the threat yourself.

You’ll find Thag’s camp in the northwest corner of the Bower Lake map. When you reach the center of the camp, you’ll be ambushed by a few waves of bandits. After dispatching them all, Thag will emerge from the cabin to the north and kick your dog off his porch. Take him down with whatever weapon you’re most comfortable with to complete the quest and earn 100 renown. You’ll also receive your first trophy – Thag’s Head.

fable ii the bandit quest 2

Take a moment to patch your dog up with the elixir you looted back at the gypsy camp, then search the chest in Thag’s cabin for Thag’s Cage Key, some Rancid Beef Jerky, and 300 gold. You’ll also find a Grubby Journal lying on the dead bandit leader’s bed.

Now that you have the key, you’ll discover that a slaver has followed you into the camp. He apparently owns the slaves in Thag’s cage and wants you to turn over the key. Giving him the key earns you 100 gold, but it also condemns the slaves to a life of misery. Refuse to turn over the key and he attacks you. Or, if you want the best of both worlds, give him the key and then kill him to get it back. This gets you the 100 gold and the satisfaction of freeing the slaves. In any event, you’re ready for The Journey Begins.
