Derived Statistics – Fallout 2

Several statistics in Fallout 2 are derived from your Primary Statistics, but then can be adjusted substantially by Perks and Traits.

As an example, your Carry Weight measures how much stuff you can carry with you as you make your way through the California wasteland. It begins as 25 + (25 x Strength), but if you select the Small Frame Trait it drops by 10 x Strength. If you add the Pack Rat or Strong Back Perk, it increases by 50.

So choosing your Primary Statistics won’t completely define your character. You’ll be able to make adjustments as you go along.
