Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich Reviews

A handful of new reviews for Irrational Games’ Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich have been posted over the past several days. The first is at AceGamez with an overall score of 8/10:

Fans of the original are bound to find Freedom Force Vs. The Third Reich a worthy sequel. It’s not pushing any boundaries but the game still comes with the right mix of fun, humour and enjoyment that seem to be lacking in these days of hyper realistic action games. The heroes aren’t familiar to those outside of Freedom Force’s universe, the setting is certainly different and there are no ties with the big named comic book franchises that are so common at the moment, yet this is still one of the most authentic comic book based video games around and well worth the attention of every PC gamer.

The second is at ReviewGamer with an overall score of 8.4/10:

While not quite the sequel we were expecting, FFvsTTR certainly sates that superhero-tactical-strategy-rpg itch that I’m sure you were all feeling along with me (mine was just behind the knee). I now find myself truly craving the next FF title, and hoping against hope that it will follow Irrational’s original plan and take the series into the Bronze Age of comics, the slinky Seventies. The itch has now moved to my left shoulder blade.

And the third is at AllAboutGames with an overall score of 9/10:

One of the other major additions of the game is the vastly improved multiplayer mode. Due to time restrictions placed on Irrational by EA, they didn’t get to produce the stuff they would have liked in the original. Now there’s more modes than before, and most interestingly, the ability to team up with others over a LAN or online and take part in stories of your own – complete with your own custom characters. It’s online comic book fun that will be different every time. The only concern with regard to multiplayer is finding games to play. Recent visits to the mode have seen few to no games available, with people only occasionally appearing in the lobby area. Nearly three months after the game’s release, this doesn’t bode well for the future, and unfortunately this excellent mode will probably be unused.
