How to Pass Time (Wait) in Hogwarts Legacy

In Hogwarts Legacy, our wizards and witches will get to experience a full day and night cycle! Boasting many main quests and side quests, Hogwarts Legacy has Day and Night Cycle that players will be able to manipulate at will through a simple press of a button. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to pass time in Hogwarts Legacy.

All you have to do to pass the time in Hogwarts Legacy is open up your map and hit the playstation r3 Button, as shown in the image below. This will open up a prompt allowing you to progress time and change the day and night cycle.

It is worthwhile noting that you do not have to be in any specific location to do so! Whether you feel like exploring Hogsmeade at night, or taking a swim in Hogwarts lake during the morning, you can now choose to do so with the simple touch of a button!

Hogwarts Legacy’s Day Night Cycle

Besides changing the ambiance and allowing you to explore Hogwarts on either a refreshing day or a gloomy night, the day and night cycle will impact your quests and collectibles as well! For example, the Demiguise Moons are one of the collectibles that are available only during the night.

Keep in mind that several quests will have a particular day and time cycle of their own, meaning that you will also wait automatically whenever you pick up a quest that requires you to do so. This means that you don’t have to guess about whether or not you need to wait for quests — if you do, when you get to the location that starts the quest (or interact with the object, talk to the character, etc.) the game will automatically go to the correct part of the day/night cycle.

We’re sure there are other aspects of the day/night cycle that we haven’t discovered yet… let us know if we missed anything in the comments below!
