If you played Hogwarts Legacy soon after release and paid attention to the ongoings in the community, you probably remember the Arachnophobia Mode mod:
The mod arrived right after release, right in time to relieve us of twitchy, hairy, hissy enemies. Yes, the spiders in Hogwarts Legacy are that creepy. To be fair, the ominous brown cubes are a little unsettling in of themselves, but the devs really outdid themselves with the spider look, animations, and sound effects in Hogwarts Legacy, considering that the Nexus Mod has been downloaded nearly 16,000 times to this date.
Hogwarts Legacy Official Arachnophobia Mode
Here’s an issue, though — without the mod support for consoles, there was nothing to protect the more sensitive console audiences against the creepy twitchy crawly.
Thankfully, with today’s patch the dev team have responded to the demand with the official Arachnophobia Mode that removes the spider legs, modifies their behavior, and gives them little cute roller skate feet instead.
This Mode also removes the creepy animations and sounds like the skitters and screeches and makes their corpses in the world invisible. Note that this setting doesn’t affect the spider images in the Field Guide.
To turn the setting on, navigate to Accessibility Options, scroll to the bottom, and look for the setting called Arachnophobia Mode.
