How to Get Rid of Flickering Shadows in ICARUS

For some reason, ICARUS renders shadows in a way that causes flickering for many users. Fortunately, there’s a quick and easy way to fix this:

  1. Open the settings menu.
  2. Go to the Display tab (this is the first settings tab open by default).
  3. Find the NVIDIA DLSS section.
  4. Click the drop-down list, and select “OFF”.

That should do it! Turning DLSS mode off does seem to cause some performance issues for some users — DLSS is a performance-boosting feature — so you may need to tweak your graphical settings further once you turn off DLSS.

It’s also important to note that selecting new “Overall” graphical settings can sometimes reset the DLSS mode, so don’t be surprised if the flickering shadows make a return while you’re messing with settings; if this happens, double-check that DLSS is still disabled.

We hope this fixed your problem with flickering shadows in ICARUS! If you have any further issues, or if you’ve found a better way to fix the shadow problem, please let us know in the comments.
