Citadel: Flux & Access Overview

1 – Arrival

Assuming you took the elevator down from the Citadel: Presidium map, this will be your arrival point.

2 – Keeper #13

This is yet another of the 21 different Keepers that are part of Chorban or Jahleed’s “Citadel: Scan the Keepers” assignment. Scan it to earn some extra experience points and credits.

3 – Exit to Upper Wards

Use this elevator to reach the Citadel: Upper Wards map.

4 – Arrival from Upper Wards

The Flux nightclub area can be reached via these stairs found on the Citadel: Upper Wards map.

5 – Citadel Rapid Transit (Flux)

Public transportation is important to the galactic community, so the fine people of Citadel Station have installed these nifty vehicles to quickly transport you to any of the station’s major locations. You’ll have to discover each one on foot first (or obtain a quest directly related to the location), though, otherwise the transit vehicle won’t allow you to choose it as a destination.

This particular destination will be labeled as “Wards Locations – Flux” if you need to travel here from one of the other transit vehicles.

6 – Rita

You’ll overhear the waitress named Rita talking about some problems she’s having with the Volus bartender as you stroll through this area. Speak with her to learn that her sister Jenna used to work here in Flux, but left to go work as an informant for C-Sec at Chora’s Den on the Citadel: Lower Wards map. Rita is worried that the job is going to get her sister killed and asks if you’ll go talk some sense into her. Accept and you’ll receive the “Citadel: Rita’s Sister” assignment. Additionally, you can speak to Doran about the sisters before leaving the bar. He doesn’t have much to add, but mentions that he’d take Jenna back “in a second” if she wanted to come work for him again.

After convincing Chellick to cut Jenna loose from Chora’s Den, you can return to the Flux nightclub to see that she’s now back waitressing for Doran. Rita is appreciative of your efforts – even if it does mean that her tips have went downhill – but doesn’t offer any further reward. Oh well.

7 – Flux Casino

Doran’s casino is filled with both low and high stakes Quasar machines. If you’d like to do a little gambling, you’ll just have to fork over the 20 credits (low stakes) or 200 credits (high stakes) for each try of your luck. The idea is to get a number as close to 20 as possible without going over. You’ll begin with a small number and can then choose to add a random number between 4-7 or 1-8 to that initial number as many times as you’d like. When you no longer feel that you can play without going over 20, you can cash out with the following results: a 14 or less is a total loss, 15-16 is a progressive loss, 17 breaks even, and 18-20 is a progressive win. As with any game that has a gambling element, saving your game before trying the Quasar machines is highly recommended.

8 – Suspicious Gambling Machine

Upon closer inspection, one of your squad members will point out that this machine has been rigged to funnel credits out of the casino. They’ll get to work tracing the signal, which will trigger the “Citadel: Signal Tracking” assignment. Open up your journal to find that the signal appears to be coming from the Wards Access corridor (area #11).

9 – Keeper #20

This is yet another of the 21 different Keepers that are part of Chorban or Jahleed’s “Citadel: Scan the Keepers” assignment. Scan it to earn some extra experience points and credits.

10 – Schells

On your visit to the Flux nightclub after completing the “Citadel: Rita’s Sister” assignment, you’ll watch as Doran’s bouncers angrily toss a salarian out of the establishment. If you speak to this Schells character, you’ll learn that he was using a device that tipped the scales in his favor while gambling on the Quasar machines. He intends to compile the results of the wins and use them to construct an algorithm that can actually predict Quasar wins and losses. He will then sell a system that utilizes the algorithm to people looking for an edge while gambling.

Unfortunately, Schells was tossed out before he could record all the results he needed. Obviously helping him in this endeavor will have a monetary reward for Renegade characters, but you should offer to help even if you want to take a Paragon route. Once the device is in your hand, you can either use it to win five games of Quasar (Renegade) or hand it over to Doran on the second floor of Flux (Paragon). If you’re pursuing the former route, just make sure you don’t win more than six games total or Doran will catch on and throw you out of the nightclub. If you’re pursuing the latter route, Doran will award you with some credits for “a few shots” on the house.

When you return to Schells, he’ll either thank you for your help (if you collected the data and still have the device) or declare this as the worst day of his life (if you handed the device over to Doran). With that, the “Citadel: Schells the Gambler” assignment is complete.

11 – Signal Source #1

After discovering that the suspicious gambling machine in the Flux nightclub (area #8) is funneling credits, you’ll track the source of its signal to this location. As it turns out, though, the signal is being bounced off a hidden relay. This will lead you to a second source in the financial district on the Citadel: Presidium map (area #21).
