Feros: ExoGeni (Main) Overview

1 – Exit to ExoGeni Approach

Having driven along the entire Feros: ExoGeni Approach map, you’ve finally arrived at the ExoGeni headquarters.

2 – Geth Resistance

You’ll have to exit the Mako at this point, as it cannot pass through the opening leading into the main level. Expect some resistance from a Geth Sapper, Geth Shock Trooper, Geth Trooper, and Geth Rocket Trooper on the other side of the wall.

3 – Locked Door

You’re going to have to decrypt this door to reach the room beyond.

4 – Geth Armature

A dormant Geth Armature lies on the floor of this room. The sentient machine’s attacks can be devastating in such close quarters, so take it down quickly (with the help of the Fusion Containment Cell, if you wish). When it’s destroyed, search the malfunctioning object for some loot.

5 – Energy Field

This blue energy field bars the primary entrance to the facility and cannot be deactivated from the north side of this level. You’ll eventually find a way to deactivate it from inside the complex, but at the moment your only means to continue is to head down into the trench at area #6.

After removing the Geth ship from the side of the ExoGeni facility by using the shuttle bay door controls on the Feros: ExoGeni Upper Level map, the energy field here will dissipate and you can reunite with Lizbeth Baynham. At this point, you’ll ask her to come clean about the Thorian and its location, which can earn you some Paragon or Renegade points depending on your responses. Joker will interrupt toward the end of the conversation and alert you about some Geth that are headed toward your position. Take Lizbeth with you and jump back in the Mako.

6 – Back Door

Since you’re unable to pass through the energy field to the south, you’ll have to drop down into this trench and proceed west to find an alternate route.

7 – Lizbeth Baynham

As soon as you emerge from the trench into this “Midden” area, Lizbeth Baynham (Juliana’s daughter) wildly shoots a pistol at you from the north. She explains that she thought you were one of the Geth or – even worse – a Varren and didn’t intend to hit you. Assuming you accept that explanation, you can talk to her further to learn that she stayed at the ExoGeni facility during the Geth attack to back up some data and is now stuck here due to the energy fields that the Geth put up.

Further into the conversation, Lizbeth reveals that ExoGeni was studying an ancient indigenous plant called a Thorian. She tells you that the Geth latched one of their ships onto the complex and now it’s powering the energy fields that keeps anyone from reaching the Thorian. It’s unknown what the Geth would want with the creature, though, since ExoGeni never really found anything ground-breaking during their research of it.

When the dialogue session is over, she hands you her ID to unlock any of the doors throughout the building just as a group of seven Varren move in for the kill. Wipe them out, then proceed to the staircase to the southwest.

8 – VI Terminal

After ascending the stairs to the east, you’ll witness a Krogan Commander attemping to badger a VI program into giving him some information. When the terminal mentions that a queue is forming behind the Krogan, he spins around and attacks. Paired with a few other enemies, the Krogan might be tough, but he doesn’t prove to be too difficult when he’s fighting alone against your squad.

When the Krogan is out of the way, the terminal will address you as “Research Assistant Elizabeth Baynham” based on its scan of the access card she gave you previously. This grants you access to information about the Geth, ExoGeni, Thorian (Subject Species 37), and Lizbeth. The most interesting information to be gleaned here is that the Thorian is physically located somewhere within the Zhu’s Hope colony and that ExoGeni has been using the colonists there as a “control group” to test the effects of the Thorian’s mind-controlling spores.

Once you have all the information you need, you’ll attempt to contact Joker to no avail. To open up a channel of communications with the Normandy, you’ll first have to figure out a way to remove the Geth ship that has latched on to the facility, which will in turn disable the energy fields that are interfering with your attempts to speak with Joker. Onward.

9 – Ship Claws

Within this room, you’ll stumble upon two Geth Shock Troopers checking on two of the latched-on ship’s “claws.” Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any way to push the ship off the side of the facility from here (approaching the “Glowing Orb” doesn’t do anything). There is a locked crate to loot, though.

10 – Geth Resistance

Expect a battle with a Geth Trooper, a Geth Shock Trooper, a Geth Sniper, and a Geth Stalker in this area. The energy field to the north is the same one you couldn’t surpass earlier when you first arrived at the facility. For now, you’ll have to take either the east or west hallway to reach the facility’s upper floor. If you’re looking for Gavin’s data to complete the “Feros: Data Recovery” assignment, then you should go east first.

11 – To Upper Level

These stairs will bring you up to the eastern side of the Feros: ExoGeni Upper Level map.

12 – To Upper Level

These stairs will bring you up to the western side of the Feros: ExoGeni Upper Level map.
