Feros: Zhu’s Hope Overview

1 – Arrival

Welcome to Zhu’s Hope, ExoGeni’s pilot colony set up to explore the Prothean ruins that blanket the planet’s surface. A battle awaits you just to the west, so prepare accordingly.

2 – David al Talaqani

This guy doesn’t last long. After telling you that the colonist leader Fai Dan wants to speak with you, David is slain by a half dozen Geth that have moved into the hallway to the west. Use the available cover to take them down one at a time.

3 – Geth Hoppers

A Geth Stalker and Geth Sapper will begin firing on your squad as you ascend these stairs.

4 – Macha Doyle

Macha is the colonist in charge of the colony’s water shortage. After clearing the northwest tower (area #14), you can speak to her to learn that the colony’s utilities buliding was one of the first to fall to the Geth. If you can retake the building, though, Macha tells you that the water mains could be turned back on and the colony would once again have the water they need. This triggers the “Feros: Water Restoration” assignment.

When you return to Macha after opening all three water valves on the Feros: Tunnels map, she’ll already assume that you were the one responsible for getting the water running again. In addition to earning several Paragon points and some experience points, she’ll give you some credits for your trouble.

5 – May O’Connell

May is the colonist in charge of the colony’s power shortage. After clearing the northwest tower (area #14), she’ll tell you that she needs some power cells to get the colony’s generator up and running again. Offering to track some down for her gets you the “Feros: Power Cells” assignment.

Once you’ve nabbed the power cells from the disabled vehicle on the Feros: Tunnels map, you can pass them over to May for some experience, credits, Omni-gel, and several Paragon points.

6 – Davin Reynolds

Davin is the colonist in charge of the colony’s food shortage. After clearing the northwest tower (area #14), he explains that Varren meat is needed to boost the colony’s rations. Unfortunately, a huge Alpha Varren makes harvesting such meat too dangerous for your standard colonist. If the Alpha Varren were taken out of the picture, the colony would be able to get the food it needs to survive. Not only does this conversation trigger the “Feros: Varren Meat” assignment, but it also unlocks the Varren codex entry.

When you bring word that the alpha male from the Feros: Tunnels map is dead, Davin begins planning a Varren hunt to be carried out after the Geth threat is gone. If you give him the “Just pay up” line, you’ll earn several Renegade points along with a reward of credits and experience. If you simply say “Goodbye”, you still get the experience and credits but you gain several Paragon points instead.

7 – Terminal

Decrypt this terminal to find some cargo logs that detail the transfer of several months worth of human rations to an uncharted world in the Amazon system of the Voyager cluster. This triggers the “Investigate Shipments” assignment, which will take you to the planet of Agebinium.

8 – Public Extranet Terminal

Examine this terminal to unlock the Communications: Methodology codex entry.

9 – Calantha and Hollis Blake

Hollis is tending to his wife, Calantha, who appears to be in a lot of pain for some unknown reason. The dialogue choices you make during this short conversation can earn you a couple of Paragon or Renegade points.

10 – Hana Murakami

This female colonist gets really uncomfortable when you start prying about what she’s working on. She just tells you that she’s doing some sort of ship diagnostics and that you should speak to Fai Dan. Hmm…

11 – Ledra

Ledra is a Salarian merchant who came to Zhu’s Hope to cash in on the opportunities that are available whenever a new colony is formed. Unfortunately, the Geth attacks have hurt his business significantly. Why not help him out a little? In addition to several weapons, Ledra also sells a Haliat Armory License.

12 – Fai Dan and Arcelia Silva Martinez

After just a couple of lines of dialogue with Fai Dan and Arcelia, several Geth will advance on the colony and you’ll be forced to fend them off. They’ve taken control of the tower to the northwest, so you’ll have to remove their presence there (area #12) before speaking to Fai Dan again.

Once the tower is secure, Fai Dan will tell you that they don’t know what the Geth want here. He suggests that you begin your search at their main base, which is now located at the ExoGeni headquarters (the company most of the colony worked for prior to the attacks). He’ll also mention that the colony is suffering from other mundane problems, such as a lack of food, water, and power. You should speak to the colonists in charge of those areas to learn more.

Finally, Fai Dan tells you that the Geth are coordinating attacks from the tunnels beneath Zhu’s Hope. If you have time, he asks that you wipe them out and destroy their transmitter so that future attacks aren’t so well-prepared. This triggers the “Feros: Geth in the Tunnels” assignment. When the transmitter has been disabled, you can return to Fai Dan for several Paragon points.

Your responses during the above conversation can earn you some Paragon or Renegade points, so choose wisely. You can also speak to the rent-a-cop Arcelia about the Geth and other topics, but she doesn’t have a whole lot to add.

13 – Geth Resistance

A few more Geth stand ready around this corner.

14 – Northwest Tower

Geth have overrun this tower and are using it to launch attacks on the Zhu’s Hope colony. In order to speak with Fai Dan a second time and have the opportunity to explore the rest of Feros, you’re going to have to exterminate every last one of them. Expect a fairly difficult battle here, as you’ll be dealing with many Geth Troopers, at least one Geth Sniper, and a Geth Destroyer.

When the tower has been secured and the Geth dropship driven off, you should return to Fai Dan to give him the good news.

15 – Upgrade kit and Medical Station

Might as well grab the valuables in these two containers before returning to Fai Dan.

16 – Exit to Prothean Skyway

This elevator will bring you to the Feros: Prothean Skyway map.

17 – Exit to Tunnels

Descending these stairs will bring you to the Feros: Tunnels map.
