This guide will help you explore the Mira Core area of Peak 15 on Noveria in Mass Effect.
Noveria: Peak 15 Mira Core Map
Noveria: Peak 15 Mira Core Overview
1 – Arrival
After dealing with your first group of Rachni on the Noveria: Peak 15 Administration level, it’s time to figure out what exactly Matriarch Benezia is up to here. Expect a lot more resistance ahead.
2 – Rachni Workers
A swarm of Rachni Workers will charge your squad from the far end of the room when you enter. Take them out quickly and from a distance or you’ll wind up taking massive damage from multiple poisonous explosions. Fall back into the hallway if you need to.
3 – Power Junction
When you restart Peak 15’s power, a VI named Mira alerts you that the system requires a manual reboot before such an action can be taken. You’ll be taking care of this problem at area #8.
4 – Fusion Reactor Door
The electronic lock on this door is offline. You’ll need to reactivate the core at area #8 and obtain the “Noveria: Reactor Repair” mission before the door will open.
5 – Passenger Trams Door
The electronic lock on this door is offline. You’ll need to reactivate the core at area #8 and complete both the “Noveria: Reactor Repair” and “Noveria: Reconnect Landlines” missions before the door will open.
6 – Technician Kit
Grab the upgrades in this technician kit while you’re here.
7 – Roof and Comms Door
The electronic lock on this door is offline. You’ll need to reactivate the core at area #8 and obtain the “Noveria: Reconnect Landlines” mission before the door will open.
8 – Mira
Mira is the VI that controls all of Peak 15’s systems, but it is currently inoperational. You’ll need to restart Peak 15’s power (at area #3), then descend into the core and reconfigure the data banks in order to bring it back online. This can be done either by repairing the memory core with 100 Omni-gel (not recommended) or manually through a mini-game.
The mini-game has you transferring four memory blocks from the first of three rows (X) to either of the other two (Y or B). When all four blocks have been successfully transferred, Mira will come back online. The trick here is that you can only transfer the top block in any row and each block can only be transferred to another of the same size. In addition, you can’t transfer a block to a row that already has a transferred block above the area you’re transferring to.
It’s a little tricky, so here are solutions that are guaranteed to get the blocks transferred:
Center Row: X-B-X-Y-B-Y-X-B-Y-X-Y-B-X-B-X-Y-B-Y-B-X-Y-X-B-Y-X-B-X-Y-B-Y
Right Row: X-Y-X-B-Y-B-X-Y-B-X-B-Y-X-Y-X-B-Y-B-Y-X-B-X-Y-B-X-Y-X-B-Y-B
Either method will reactivate the core and trigger an appearance by Mira’s holographic user interface.
Once Mira has determined that you are indeed a Spectre working for the Council, you’re given access to any information you want that doesn’t include Binary Helix company secrets. Ask about Matriarch Benezia first to learn that she left on the passenger tramway to the nearby Rift Station. Unfortunately, though, the tramway is no longer operable. Inquire about fixing the tramway and Mira will explain that you must repair the landlines on the roof and manually restart Peak 15’s main reactor to get it back up and running.
Now that you have two new missions (“Noveria: Reconnect Landlines” and “Noveria: Reactor Repair”), take a moment to investigate the rest of Mira’s dialogue options (her final logs, her shutdown, and hostile creatures). She doesn’t reveal a whole lot of information, but it does shed some light on what happened prior to the VI’s shutdown.
9 – To Peak 15 Roof
This elevator will bring you up to a small Rachni-infested area of the Peak 15 rooftop (area #10).
10 – To Mira Core
This elevator will bring you back down to the main Mira Core level (area #9).
11 – Rachni Infestation
A large number of Rachni Soldiers and Rachni Workers inhabit this area of the rooftop, so prepare accordingly.
12 – Landlines
Activate this control panel to repair the Peak 15 landlines. When you’re finished, you can use the Mira Terminal on your right to get an updated damage report and to receive the “Noveria: Contamination” mission if you’ve already repaired the reactor fuel lines.
13 – Locked Crate
Don’t forget to decrypt and loot this secure crate before going back down the elevator.
14 – To Reactor Core
This elevator will bring you down to Peak 15’s reactor core sublevel (area #15).
15 – To Mira Core
This elevator will bring you back up to the main Mira Core level (area #9).
16 – Reactor Core Entry Room
Your radar will become jammed just as you enter this room, so that should be a pretty good indicator that Geth are skulking somewhere nearby. Check the Disposal Canister and technician kit for loot, then prepare for battle and head through either the north or south door.
There are a total of nine Geth defending this sublevel (five Stalkers, three Destroyers, and one Juggernaut), so you should move slowly and utilize any cover you can find to avoid getting blasted by too many machines at one time. The Juggernaut is perched on the northern platform on the second level, so keep an eye out for him as you move along either pathway toward the west.
It’s also worth mentioning that there is another Mira Terminal in this room. You can use it after repairing the fuel lines at area #17 to get an updated damage report and to receive the “Noveria: Contamination” mission if you’ve already fixed the landlines.
17 – Fuel Lines
When you’ve taken out the Geth resistance, you’ll be able to fix the reactor’s fuel lines without any interruption. Make a quick round gathering the loot on the second floor of this level, then return to the elevator.
18 – Storage Locker
The first of two searchable containers on this upper floor.
19 – Weapon Locker
The second of two searchable containers on this upper floor.
20 – To Tram
This elevator will bring you up to the Peak 15 tramway (area #21).
21 – To Mira Core
This elevator will bring you back down to the main Mira Core level (area #20).
22 – Decontamination Chamber
See those two Rachni Soldiers locked in the hallway to the east? Those are the “contaminants” that are barring your way to the tramway. You’re going to have to make use of any of the following methods to clear the way:
- Activate the Mira Terminal, choose the “Just open the door.” dialogue option, and kill the Rachni Soldiers.
- With enough Decryption skill or Omni-gel, you can unlock the door to the tram hallway yourself and kill the Rachni Soldiers.
- With enough Electronics skill or Omni-gel, you can repair the Plasma Purge control panel and watch as the Rachni are incinerated.
Regardless of which method you used, check the computer console and Junk Bin in this room before continuing on your way. The console will allow you to listen to the dead Salarian’s final message and the bin will net you a few more upgrades. Just be careful of the Rachni Soldier that can come up from the western floor vents.
23 – Rachni Workers
A few Rachni Workers will explode in a spray of acidic joy as soon as you step through the door beyond the two Rachni Soldiers.
24 – To Rift Station
When you’ve finally made your way here, you can hop aboard the tram and take it to the Noveria: Rift Station Lower Level map.
