Noveria: RS Main Level Overview

1 – Arrival

The western elevator on the Noveria: Rift Station Lower Level map will bring you up to this main floor.

2 – Captain Ventralis

A few soldiers led by a Captain Ventralis are guarding this area and nearly take a shot at you when you arrive in the elevator. After telling Ventralis that you’re a Spectre, he begins telling you about the Rachni problem down in the hot labs and even gives you a card that will allow you access to the other elevator you saw on the lower floor. He also mentions that the Board sent an Asari to help clean up the mess, but she hasn’t been heard from since entering the hot labs some time ago. One would assume he’s referring to Matriarch Benezia.

Investigate all of the available topics (the facility, aliens, hot labs, his staff, Benezia) to learn as much about the situation as you can. When questioned about the facility’s defenses, Ventralis will be a little reluctant to reveal everything to you. With a successful Charm (“You survived somehow.”) or Intimidate (“This place is vulnerable.”) choice, he’ll tell you all about the turrets and alarms that are routed from a central control room in the quarantine labs. He also mentions a Dr. Olar, a Volus scientist that may be able to tell you more about the Rachni.

When your conversation is finished (for a couple of Paragon or Renegade points, depending on your dialogue choices), two Rachni Soldiers pop up from the floor vents to the south. Help Ventralis and his men finish them off, then head north to explore the rest of this level before going back down to the hot labs.

It’s also worth mentioning that you’ll need to return to Captain Ventralis as part of the “Noveria: Quarantine” mission. Simply tell Ventralis that your squad is willing to risk contamination to help acquire a toxin cure and he’ll radio ahead to have the guard let you into the quarantine labs.

3 – Alestia Iallis

Take a moment to quiz this meditating Asari about herself, her work, why she’s so calm, and Benezia. She’s not too friendly and she doesn’t seem to be too concerned about the Rachni troubles. Hmm.

4 – Petozi

This Elcor merchant has been supplying Captain Ventralis with weapons and other equipment, but he still has some items left for you to buy. If you don’t already have them, you should at least buy the Medigel Upgrade IIKassa Fabrication License, and Sirta Foundation License that he sells.

5 – Dr. Palon

Grab the goodies from the nearby Medical Kit, then talk with the Salarian doctor lying down here to learn more about him, Benezia, the medical bay, the hot labs, and the situation as a whole. You won’t really learn anything new from him, but it’s a good refresher nonetheless.

6 – Lockers

Decrypt the storage locker and weapon locker here in the barracks to earn a few extra items.

7 – Lower Medical Bay

Just down this ramp is the lower level of the medical bay, where Dr. Zev Cohen is hard at work trying to find a cure for some infected scientists. He’s under a non-disclosure agreement, so you’ll have to issue a successful Charm (“I need more to help.”) or Intimidate (“Tell me everything.”) line to get him to tell you what he knows about the experiment-gone-wrong and the Thorus-B toxin that was released as a result. Apparently the team was working on a bio-weapon when things went bad, and now their notes and equipment needed to find a cure are locked in the quarantine labs. Offer some help to receive the “Noveria: Quarantine” mission, which will send you back to Captain Ventralis.

Once you’ve gained entrance to the quarantine labs, mixed a cure, and killed Alestia, you can return here and hand the antitoxin over to Zev. In exchange, he’ll give you his pass for the maintenance area on the station’s lower level and will provide you with some Medi-gel with a successful Charm (“Got any medi-gel?”) or Intimidate (“I need more.”) line. You’ll also gain experience and Paragon or Renegade points, depending on how you handled the situation.

8 – To Lower Level

This elevator will bring you down to the scientist barracks and quarantine labs area of the Noveria: Rift Station Lower Level map.

9 – Restricted Area Entrance

The northern area of the station’s level has been sealed off and labeled “restricted”, but you can decrypt the lock on this door if you wish to challenge the local authority. Doing so will immediately cause all ERCS guards (including Captain Ventralis!) to become hostile, as well as the nearby Assault Drones. If you don’t want to deal with so many hostiles, then you’ll need to travel through the maintenance area on the station’s lower level using Dr. Cohen’s pass (see area #7).

10 – ERCS Resistance

If you’ve broken into this restricted area, then all ten ERCS guards stationed in these four chambers will be hostile.

11 – To Lower Level

This elevator will bring you down to the northern section of the Noveria: Rift Station Lower Level map.
