Presrop Overview

Presrop is located in the Century system of the Hawking Eta cluster. Even if you don’t have the “Strange Transmission” assignment obtained from a computer console on Citadel Station, the “UNC: Major Kyle” assignment will trigger after Admiral Hackett asks you to investigate Kyle’s compound here on Klendagon’s moon. If you did have the original assignment, then it just changes names.

1 – Arrival

There is nothing about this moon’s environment that makes it hazardous to travel outside of the Mako.

2 – Ramshackle Utility Shacks

A cluster of prefab utility shacks with rover tracks leading away from them. Someone was obviously here recently. Grab the items from the malfunctioning object, technician kit, and locked crate, then continue on.

3 – Ancient Debris

Your recovery efforts on this debris will turn up a piece of scrap metal marked with the Macedyn Outpost insignia. This is one of thirteen needed for the “UNC: Turian Insignias” assignment.

4 – Wrecked Mining Vehicle

Just a short distance from the ancient debris is a crumpled rover with a team of dead miners still inside. There is nothing else of significance here.

5 – Crashed Probe

As usual, a couple of upgrades can be salvaged from this abandoned space probe.

6 – Biotic Compound

When you attempt to enter the compound, a voice comes across the comm system to alert you that this is a private sanctuary and that outsiders are not welcome here. If you claim that you’re here to see Major Kyle, you’re told that he wants nothing more to do with the Alliance. With a successful Charm (“He needs my help.”) or Intimidate (“He’ll get you all killed!”) line, you can convince them to grant you an audience with Kyle. This earns you two Paragon or Renegade points. If you’re unable to use such persuasion, then you’ll have to fight your way in.

There are two buildings that make up this compound. The one you’re standing outside of now is the mercenary base, where the Biotic Cultists reside. If you’re going the persuasion route, then you don’t actually have to go inside here (though you might want to loot the locked crate, technician kit, malfunctioning object, medical kit, and aid station inside). If you’re fighting your way to Kyle, then you must go inside here and eliminate the Biotics so that you can use the control panel in the back room to unlock the door leading into the second building.

The compound’s second building is a science station. Once you’ve gained entrance to it, you’ll encounter more Biotic Cultists (who are only hostile if you didn’t use persuasion) and Major Kyle himself in the room. Kyle doesn’t want a quarrel (unless you came in shooting…), but he does admit to killing the Alliance representatives. To take him in peacefully and earn several Paragon or Renegade points, you’ll need to use Charm (“You can’t help them now.”) or Intimidate (“Surrender or they all die!”). Kyle will agree to surrender on the condition that you give him one hour to explain the situation to his followers. And with that, the “UNC: Major Kyle” assignment concludes.

With Kyle dead or subdued, you’re free to search the medical kit, technician kit, and malfunctioning object elsewhere in the science station.

7 – Gold Deposit

Survey this Gold deposit to get one step closer to finishing the “Heavy Metals” section of the “UNC: Valuable Minerals” assignment and to earn a reasonable amount of experience and credits.

8 – Uranium Deposit

Survey this Uranium deposit to get one step closer to finishing the “Rare Earths” section of the “UNC: Valuable Minerals” assignment and to earn a reasonable amount of experience and credits.

9 – Mercenaries

Two Mercenaries, two Mercenary Anti-Tank soldiers, and one Mercenary Adept will open fire on the Mako when you approach this area. Blast them from long range if you want to avoid taking much damage.

10 – Thresher Maw

An acid-spitting Thresher Maw inhabits this flat section of Presrop’s operational area.
