Asheron’s Call News

Once again, I received an email concerning Microsoft’s MMORPG Asheron’s Call. This time it’s some good news for any of you that were planning on buying it…

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of Asheron’s Call, Microsoft today announced a special rebate program for the award-winning game. With the purchase of Asheron’s Call at any retail or online store location, gamers will receive a $20 rebate by mailing in the sticker on the box. With an estimated street price of US$29.95, gamers now have the opportunity to own Asheron’s Call for only US$9.95.

Unlike other online gaming experiences, the world of Dereth has changed with each and every month — be it with the additions of new lands to explore, new creatures to battle, or new quests on which to embark. Towns and seasons have come and gone. Players have helped to advance the history of the world, fending off the invasion of Shadows…and their eerily traveling Spires. This month marks the one-year anniversary of Asheron’s Call, and the current event, “Should the Stars Fall,” is now underway.

Asheron’s Call is a massively multiplayer role-playing game playable exclusively on Zone.com (http://www.zone.com/) that draws together thousands of players within a dynamic, 3-D online world. Players can create truly unique characters by choosing between extensive combinations of visual appearance, attributes and skill sets. Asheron’s Call immerses players in an intense role-playing environment where they must compete or cooperate with thousands of other online players. An extensive system of allegiance and influence greatly enhances social interaction. The online nature of the game facilitates an evolving and dynamic adventure inside a consistent universe. The game will never be solved because there will always be more areas to explore and quests to complete.
