Avencast: Rise of the Mage Interview, Part Two

RPG Vault brings us the second installment of their Avencast: Rise of the Mage interview with ClockStone Software’s Michael Schiestl, Minh Tri Do Dinh, and Matthias Hilke.

Q: What manner of magic system are you implementing in the game? What different types or schools are there?

Matthias Hilke: As briefly mentioned earlier, the magic system offers a skill tree with two main branches, Blood Magic and Soul Magic. Both are supported by a third branch that features Summoning Magic. Blood Magic favors short-range and magically enhanced combat moves with the staff. Soul Magic is predominantly comprised of ranged attacks such as shots, waves, walls and novas. In addition, there is a Summoning spell tree that enables the mage to call upon diverse magic reinforcements during combat.
