Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Series v2.3 Patch Released

A new patch (v2.3) for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, its expansion Siege of Dragonspear, and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition is now available. Instead of simply releasing a changelog, the folks at Beamdog have released a master document that includes all fixes for the Enhanced Editions of the Baldur’s Gate games that were included in the patches they’ve released since v2.0, so that people who haven’t played the title in a while can get an idea of how much has changed since the last time they played.

I’m going to quote the highlights from the developers’ blog:

  • Tooltips now display a stylized scroll background that dynamically resizes with the amount of text displayed
  • The Candlekeep tutors’ dialogue no longer displays placeholder text when a non-English language is selected (BG:EE)
  • Turkish UI strings no longer appear in English (BG:EE)
  • Story Mode protections now apply to the player’s Familiar as well as party members
  • multiple dialogue fixes (eliminating repeated lines, removing incorrect lines, and closing dialogue loops)
  • multiple gameplay fixes and interface fixes
  • multiple quest and achievement fixes
