Beyond Divinity Impressions

HomeLan Fed is offering up their impressions of Beyond Divinity after a hands-on demonstration at this year’s Game Developers Conference. An excerpt:

As explained in our demo by Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke, Beyond Divinity can be played as both an action-RPG and also a tactical-RPG which certainly gives the game replay value (it needs it since there are no multiplayer modes in Beyond Divinity). One of the big features is that whatever type of character you create has what is knows as a “Death Knight” created with you. You can control both your created character and your Death Knight but when either one of you die, the other dies with you. Ouch. Another neat eddition is “summoning dolls”, which allow you to bring forth creatures that will fight with you.
