BIG Festival Awards 2018 Announces Finalists

We already covered who was going to be talking at the the BIG Festival this year in a previous post. However, the BIG Festival Awards 2018 is going to be bigger than ever. Hosting a huge array of indie games developed all around the world. Each of the 646 games that were submitted has now been narrowed down to the finalists who will compete in 14 different categories. But who will win big?

14 Awards up for grabs

The 14 awards up for grabs will include:

  • Best Game
  • Best Brazilian Game
  • Best Latin American Game
  • Best Sound
  • Best Art
  • Best Narrative
  • Best Gameplay
  • Innovation
  • BIG Impact: Educational Category
  • BIG Impact: Social Matters Category
  • Best Multiplayer Game
  • Best Student Game
  • Best Virtual Reality Game and the popular People’s Choice Award.

Who are the finalists?

So, just who has been chosen for the finalists? Well there is a whole list of every nominated game over on the BIG website that you check out. But, some of the biggest nominees include 39 Days to Mars developed by It’s Anecdotal. This one has been nominated for several awards as well as the game Luna by Funomena which has been nominated for 4 awards. BIG has expanded its categories this year to include Best Kids, Multiplayer and Student games. Of course the big awards, like Best Game and People’s Choice are the ones to keep an eye on. One of the previous winners of the BIG Awards was Overcooked which was a highly rated game when it first came out.

The winners will be announced on the 28th June at the BIG Festival Awards 2018 in Sao Paulo. Keep your eyes and ears peeled people. It is likely the award winners here will go on to do great things.

Sneak peek at Best Game Nominees

The Best Game category has some great nominations in it. Including: Dead Cells, Frostpunk, 39 Days to Mars, Semblence, Cultist Simulator, Galazy of Pen and Paper and UNSIGHTED.
