BioShock Interviews

Both Joystiq and Next Generation have conjured up new interviews with BioShock lead designer Ken Levine about the game’s phenomenal success and launch issues. A snip from Joystiq’s interview:

Q: Now putting this PC issue to rest. Is there anything you’d like to add that we wouldn’t know to ask you or you’d like to add?

A: There have been some concerns that the copy protection was something nobody had ever seen before, except for the online procedure, there’s nothing different. There’s nothing wacky going on there, at some point we’ll move back from online activation. If people want to play BioShock ten years from now, they’ll be able to play it. We have a commitment from 2K that that is going to happen and we’ll hold them to that commitment and they’re serious about it, we’ll make that happen.

And a snip from Next Generation’s interview:

(Am I interested in continuing to work in the world?) is the first question, to which Levine answers (Yes, I am.) The second question, if there is a popular demand for such work, is also answered in the positive by Levine though in truth he need not answer at all, the game’s high review scores and server-breaking sales alone telling that tale. But the third question is whether or not the story is complete, whether or not BioShock has told all there is to tell.

(I think that’s the question we have to ask now,) Levine states. Hopefully he’ll take the weekend off first.
