Camelot Grab Bag Q&A

In this week’s Grab Bag Q&A for Dark Age of Camelot, EA Mythic’s Missy Hatch answers questions about the porting system, placing trophies, and more.

Q: I’ve been testing on Pendragon and then I noticed that when I patched to my live server, I had to download a patch all over again! How can I avoid waiting through a patch every time I want to switch between Pendragon and live?

A: In order to avoid patching and un-patching, you can create a separate directory to run Pendragon from. The Tech Dude explains how:

Create a new folder in your Mythic (or Electronic Arts) folder (the one your game folder is located in) called “Pendragon.” Then just copy and paste everything from your game folder into the new folder. Then you can make a shortcut from camtest.exe to your desktop or start menu. He warns that doing this will double the size of your game install, since you’ll have everything twice, so only do this if you intend to play on Pendragon regularly, and if you have enough space on your hard drive.
