Dark Age of Camelot

Test Version 1.70g Release Notes

April 27, 2004

===================================

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

– (SI and ToA Only) Changes made in 1.69 inadvertently caused players running two instances of DAOC to go linkdead or experience other problems. To address this and restore the original level of functionality, we have added a new “sleep mode” to the client, to allow it to run while using very low CPU usage when in the background or minimized. Setting it to “Background” will not render when the window is not the active window on your desktop, and setting it to “Minimized” will cause it to not render when the game is minimized. You can adjust your settings in the Options Menu or ingame using the “/clientsleep” command.

– (Pendragon Only) Fixed an issue where bodies of monsters were not being removed after they died.

– We have added the /range command. This command works similar to /gtrange but is based off of your current target rather than your ground target.

– Clerics, Druids, and Healers should now be correctly converted to receive the lower level spreadheals.

– The friends list should now work correctly.

NEW FRONTIERS NOTES

– Boats no longer require Trials of Atlantis access.

– Players who attempt to log in near a keep that is owned by an enemy realm will now be moved to a “safe point”.

– Fixed a bug where pets were not able to capture keeps.

– Players can no longer do positional styles on doors.

– Fixed remaining issues that enabled players to board the enemy realms’ fast attack boats.

– Fixed a bug that would not allow a guild to claim a keep in the New Frontiers if the guild owned a keep in any old frontier zone.

Siege Changes

– /groundassist can now be used on siege equipment to acquire its current ground target location.

– Players should now take 50% less damage when hit by a siege attack while riding a piece of siege equipment.

– Players can no longer cast spells, use items, or sit while riding a ram.

– Line of sight to your ground target is now required to begin moving siege equipment.

– Typing /control with no siege weapon close should no longer print garbage text.

– Fixed a bug where after releasing a piece of siege equipment, the next player to try to right click control it would not immediately get the control box.

– Destroyed siege equipment should now properly release the owner’s control.

– Fixed a bug where trade skill created siege weapons could not be boarded by players other than the crafter of the siege weapon.

– You should now receive a message if your siege weapon misses all targets.

Tradeskill Changes

– The ranged ballista available through Siegecraft will now have the appropriate maximum range, arming timer, and damage.
