Combat Movement

Dave Rickey posted on the Camelot Vault message boards today regarding movement during combat. Here is the first part of his post:

Just FYI, you cannot cast or shoot an arrow if you are moving at *all* (you can turn all you want, but your XYZ coords must stay the same).

We’re not closed to the option of sticky melee, but it *does* have major impacts on the relative power of melee vs. ranged combat. Pure casters generally die in 2 hits from a same-level melee character in Camelot, archery-capable classes in 3-4 (two melees facing off, on the other hand, are looking at 10+ blows). So there’s a fine line to be tread between giving giving the ranged classes no chance to survive once someone closes to melee, and giving the melee classes no way to close long enough to win. Both would be bad.

You can find the rest of the post and thread here.
Thanks Dave!
