Divinity: Original Sin – The Board Game Update #33

Larian Studios brings us a new Kickstarter update for the board game version of Divinity: Original Sin to let us know that the project’s pledge manager will stay open until November 15, 2022, which should allow us to familiarize ourselves with the rulebook before it goes into print.

Here’s more on that:

Hey all,

Just a quick update for you today – our timeline to print is still on track and some elements of the board game are going to print now. However, we’re delaying the pledge manager closing time to November 15, 2022 for a couple reasons:

  • A number of backers still need to close out their pledges, so we want to make sure they have ample time to do that.
  • The rulebook still needs time for layout and examples, and we want to make sure you get a chance to read it before the pledge manager closes.

An important final step before production was hiring a technical editor to meticulously go through our rules; combing through the rules as written for vague explanations, designer assumptions or gaps in detail. As this process is near completion, the rulebook should be ready for us to share (including visuals) within the next couple of weeks. As the rulebook is generally one of the last things to go to print, we’ll continue to polish it in the weeks following as the rest of the game is finalized and sent off to the printers.

So again, that’s the pledge manager closing on November 15, 2022. Please make any final changes to your pledge, your address, etc before that date.

Thanks all! Speak to you soon.
