Dragon Age: Inquisition Planned to Use Kinect

Lately, Total Xbox has been publishing extracts of a (presumably fairly meaty) Dragon Age: Inquisition preview they’ve run in the latest issue of their magazine, and the latest concerns the use of Kinect voice commands in the title. This is honestly one of the Mass Effect 3 details I keep forgetting, so I don’t know if it’s a positive or a negative:

“We’re expecting that Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions will ship with a Kinect-enabled voice command feature, just like Mass Effect 3 did,” creative director Mike Laidlaw explained as part of a massive Inquisition preview, located within the twitching folds of issue 111.

The developer also has unspecified, strictly provisional plans for SmartGlass, the auxiliary Xbox app for touchscreens. “It needs to make sense, of course,” observed producer Cameron Lee. “But we want Inquisition to be an experience you can take with you everywhere – to work, the commute home, the living room, bed.” Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition to be hiding under your duvet, right?
