Dragons Take to the Skies in Horizons

Artifact Entertainment has announced that experienced Dragon players in Horizons: Empire of Istaria can now fly. A full rip to follow:

The natural progression of age, which was once taken for granted, was halted long ago when a paradox was created. A sword that could cut through anything struck a great statue which could not be damaged, sending shockwaves through the world which halted the natural order for all Dragons. In order to continue their normal existence, Dragons had to discover a means to mature into adulthood, or face possible extinction.

Eventually, through much research and experimentation, Dragons developed a method in which to fashion their own adult bodies and transfer their younger, immature selves into these newly created forms. With ever increasing numbers members of the Dragon race joining the ranks of the gifted, those bestowed with the gift of immortality, the Dragon race deemed that it was time to teach this lesson to the young Dragon hatchlings.

However, it is not enough to simply create their new form and transfer themselves into it. Dragons must prove themselves ready in both mind and in spirit for the responsibilities and power that comes with adulthood. This process, one all Dragons must pass to gain the ability of flight, is the Rite of Passage.

Many years ago, the race of Dragons became split on how to further the success of their race. The Scholar Helian wanted to use their knowledge and influence to rise above all the other new races, while the military leader Malganival Lunus wanted to use direct force to rule them. These two factions, which still exist today, caused a rift now known as the Great Schism. In order to become an adult, a Dragon must choose which faction and which ideals they are to follow. Each faction has their own ritual and the steps required vary according to the different ideals that each faction shares.

The very first of a new line of Adult Dragons was created when Azure of Blight transformed into the mighty winged Khan Azure the Patriarch! Many more hatchlings are eager to join him in the continued struggle against the evil forces of the Withered Aegis’ undead hordes!
