Drakensang Online: Rise of Balor Expansion to Launch on August 26th

Bigpoint’s Drakensang Online will be getting a hefty new content update entitled “Rise of Balor” later this month, as indicated by a press release sent out prior to the weekend.  This one will include a bevy of new locations that span the jungle of Lor’Tac that encompass a new storyline that eventually pits us against the “Son of the Dragon”, Balor.  Here’s a teaser trailer:

Hamburg, Germany, 13th August 2015 | Welcome to the jungles of Lor’Tac! Bigpoint, one of the world’s leading developers and publishers of online games, today unveils more information on the upcoming add-on Rise of Balor for their successful hack’n’slay RPG Drakensang Online, focusing on new maps and the back-story.

On behalf of Agrasha, Queen of Myrdosh, the players enter the southern forbidden jungle of Lor’Tac, searching for a lost dwarven advance team who sought the lost, semi-mythical World’s Heart. They encounter two native tribes, one corrupted by an evil power, the other seeking refuge in the tree-tops. Accompanied by the young Spellweaver Kaylin Lefrye, players learn that the evil tribe is searching for artifacts of the Bound Gods: Oceanus, Artaya, Mortis, Fyrgon, and Fjalnir. By defeating all enemies, players recover the holy relics for themselves. Battling horrible monsters and finally Balor, the Son of the Dragon himself, players must rescue the World’s Heart, the most powerful artifact in all creation, and cleanse it from Balor’s evil corruption.

Rise of Balor adds 16 brand-new maps to the world of Dracania, some of which evolve based on the players’ actions on their journey through Lor’Tac, guaranteeing maximum levels of excitement and surprise.

Bigpoint will release (Rise of Balor), the largest expansion in the history of Drakensang Online, on August 26th. The add-on will not only bring new maps and a raised level cap to the game, but also a completely redesigned skill and talent mastery system as well as countless challenging quests, fierce monsters, and new loot and item sets.
