Dungeons Reviews

Should you be looking to add a little Dungeon Keeper-inspired entertainment to your gaming regiment, then you may want to sift through these new reviews for Realmforge’s Dungeons.

GameFront gives it an 85/100:

Overall, Dungeons is a fitting addition to the genre that Dungeon Keeper created. While much of it will feel familiar, there’s more than enough that’s different here for Dungeons to hold its own. It’s not Dungeon Keeper 3, but you’d be forgiven for considering it as such. It’s a fun take on the formula, and one that any fan of the Dungeon Keeper series should consider giving a try.

Game Stooge gives it a 3.5/5:

The game is an interesting experiment, but one hopes that if a Dungeons II is developed, they make it simpler and cleverer, rather than trying to fit several games into one. Dungeons is still an interesting game, and there is major potential there. Hopefully, it’ll be realized sometime.

T3ch H3lp gives it a 6/10:

Dungeons is a noble attempt at a new idea, but unfortunately it gets lost trying to do too much. Had it just stuck to its core premise and sold itself as a tower defense game set in a dungeon, it might have fared better. Had my expectations not been for a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper I may have enjoyed it more, but that is my own fault more than the games. Despite its flaws it still provides an enjoyable experience and has a potentially addictive formula that could keep you playing for hours if you really get into it.

And Intense Gaming doesn’t hand out a score:

Dungeons has a lot of good things going for it, but the experience isn’t perfect. Aside from the long and convoluted tutorial there are some visual quirks and performance issues that really mar an otherwise well crafted homage to the Dungeon Keeper Series. The campaign is pretty lengthy and should take you upwards of 12 hours to complete, and after you’re finished with it you can always set up custom games. There’s no online play in Dungeons but the campaign and the custom matches should keep your attention for several hours of entertainment. All in all Dungeons is a good game. It’s fun and it should keep you entertained for a while despite its bugs and annoyances, and it’s the closest thing to a Dungeon Keeper 3 anyone’s going to get.
