EverQuest II Dev Diary #3

The third installment of GameSpy’s ongoing EverQuest II developer diary feature is now available, this time written by Danny Lewis, the game’s lead envrironment artist. Here’s a bit of what he had to say:

We have also focused a lot of effort on the cities of EQII. Freeport and Qeynos are gigantic, to say the least. Hundreds of structures and interiors have been carefully modeled and textured with the same attention to detail as our terrain, dungeons, and objects. Adventurers can spend untold days just exploring and questing in, under, and around the cities. Enjoy a drink or ten at the tavern, go shopping for that special someone, or seek out adventure in the newbie yards, sewers, or catacombs.

We feel very proud of what we’ve accomplished with this title. Our team has been at this for a long time and we’re still tirelessly working to refine and polish the zones. There are many surprises in store for those who find them. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this, but I think you’ll have even more fun playing.
