EverQuest II Reviews

Another handful of fairly positive reviews for Sony’s EverQuest II have surfaced around the internet. The first is at 1Up with an overall score of 7.5/10:

Anyone who liked the first game and hasn’t yet tired of MMORPGs will probably fall in love with EQ2. It’s everything its predecessor was, only with better presentation, incredible graphics, and a lot of the simple, necessary improvements that have become standard since the days of the original EQ. On the other hand, players who never cared for the first game will find that the core gameplay has changed very little and will probably feel disappointed once the initial wow factor wears off.

The second is at eToyChest with an overall score of 92%:

Crack has been refined and made anew with EverQuest II. It’s an addicting game as well as being very deep. It probably won’t be for the casual gamer, but anybody that enjoyed EQ will pick this up, and find the game more enjoyable then the original.

And the third is at Dreamstation.cc with an overall score of 7.5/10:

In 4-6 months, EverQuest II will be a 9-10 in rating, but right now they need to get some stability, fix the bugs, and polish everything up a bit. The foundation of a tremendous game is in place. The graphics are fabulous, the combat is fun and interactive, and the sound rounds it all out. There are countless improvements from its predecessor that I couldn’t cover in 20 pages of review. This week Worlds of Warcraft releases, giving EverQuest II some serious competition, so we shall see how the EverQuest II programmers respond by adding and fixing content of the current EverQuest II experience. Overall, if you have a horse of a PC, and you are willing to forgive some bumps along the way, EverQuest II will be a satisfying MMORPG experience. And the box comes with phone numbers of a few divorce lawyers, just in case.
