Fable: The Lost Chapters Reviews

Three new reviews for Fable: The Lost Chapters have hit the web, all of which offer a positive perspective. The first is at BonusStage with an overall score of 8.9/10:

In the end, The Lost Chapters really only fixes what the original release lacked in terms of length, however even after a year Fable easily holds up as a top-tier RPG experience that delivers a solid mix of satisfying combat, in-depth character development, fun (albeit shallow) morality choices, absolutely mind-blowing production values and a massive game world that is simply captivating. If you don’t own an Xbox or never got around to picking up the original Fable, do yourself a tremendous favor and buy Fable: The Lost Chapters immediately.

The second is at WorthPlaying with an overall score of 8.3/10:

Fable: The Lost Chapters is an improvement on an already great game. While Fable veterans will likely be able to speed through the original content to get to the new stuff with a weekend rental, newcomers should definitely buy it. It’ll only cost you $20 and what you get is a game that is anything but a throwaway budget title.

And the third is at Gameplanet with an overall score of 4/5:

It is most refreshing in this age of doom ‘n’ gloom epics to encounter an RPG that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Granted, the central storyline may be no laughing matter, but Fable’s designers clearly want us to have fun. Humorous elements shine through in the form of outspoken and eccentric NPCs, irreverent gestures, amusing side quests and numerous subtle touches that are certain to raise a smile or two. While there’s probably insufficient new content in Fable: The Lost Chapters to prompt owners of the original Fable to buy (although there’s always the option to trade up), we can happily recommend it to RPGers as a good, fun adventure with a solid storyline and plenty of neat features with which to play around.
