Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta DLC Reviews

It’s been several hours now since the last wave, so why not round up another batch of Mothership Zeta reviews?

GameSpy starts us off with a 3/5:

Those who aren’t scared off by Mothership Zeta’s healthy injection of humor and its tongue-in-cheek nods to popular science-fiction, on the other hand, should still only download Mothership Zeta if they have an unhealthy obsession with aliens. Point Lookout will undoubtedly be remembered as the high-note for Fallout 3 DLC. There are some memorable moments here, but it’s a shame that Mothership Zeta couldn’t do more with such an interesting premise.

Giant Bomb thinks that 3/5 is about right:

There’s something so audacious to me about stacking aliens on top of the apocalypse, and Mothership Zeta does it well enough that I’m willing to excuse some of its structural bluntness and over-reliance on combat. It’s not the best Fallout 3 DLC, but it’s still pretty interesting, and not a bad way to spend four or five hours.

Just Push Start doesn’t need a score:

Overall, Mothership Zeta is a worthy experience for Fallout 3 fans. If you love the other four expansion, there’s no doubt that you will love this game. Even though the game is only three hours long, and the story feels lacking, it is still a worthy experience to travel outside the Wasteland. For the 800 Microsoft Points, your money will be spent well.

And Cheat Code Central gives it a 4.0/5:

Hefty chunks of Mothership Zeta feel formulaic and repetitive, yet the sting of the expansion’s low points is countered somewhat by the impeccable presentation, smartly-implemented sci-fi vibe, and a few entertaining twists. It’s a short jaunt to be sure, and there’s not a ton to be gained aside from overall experience of being abducted by aliens and then blowing them to hell as retribution. Those with a strong appreciation for science fiction, robots, and space battles will appreciate Bethesda’s final addition to Fallout 3.
