Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta DLC Reviews

The Internet is home to three more reviews of Bethesda’s fifth and final DLC installment for Fallout 3.

GameSpot gives it a 6.0/10:

You may have cringed at the idea of Fallout 3 in space, and if you have, you already know Mothership Zeta wasn’t created with you in mind. Carrying alien zappers from space around the postapocalyptic wastelands while wearing samurai armor (another possible bit of loot you can carry back with you) certainly won’t appeal to every Fallout aficionado. Open-minded fans will glean some enjoyment from this sci-fi-skinned dungeon crawler, but by isolating its game’s weaknesses without catering to its strengths, developer Bethesda Game Studios has ended Fallout 3’s run of downloadable content not with a bang, but a whimper.

Britxbox thinks 6/10 is about right:

After five expansions, it’s unfortunate that Fallout 3 isn’t going out on a better note. At the same price, Point Lookout is a far more expansive and satisfying experience whilst Broken Steel is an equally impressive package that provides an essential coda to the game. Mothership Zeta is an enjoyable caper if you’re looking to squeeze a few more hours out of your character, but for those new to Fallout 3 I strongly recommend leaving this alone for now.

And The Start Screen stick with the scoreless approach:

I think it’s best to say that Mothership Zeta is easily the best DLC released… Ok, I can’t actually say that with a straight face. Truth is, Mothership Zeta is not the high note Bethesda was looking for with Fallout 3’˜s final expansion. You’re pretty much paying for an hour or two of wandering through a maze that’s filled with aliens and tells you where to go. There’s a lack of things to do and there aren’t any new perks added to the mix. You’ll shoot plenty of aliens and their robot companions and you may even find all of the aliens recordings, which offer some insight into what the aliens were doing when they were abducting people and who the people were, earning you an achievement along the way. You can also count on Mothership Zeta to end with quite a blast but alas, you might want to spend your money on something better like Marvel vs. Capcom 2, or buy the other 4 expansions that have been released.
